The Wait is Over: Cold Turkey Cover Reveal
Although I only know of a handful of you who are actively "waiting" 🤪
Last Friday I finished the rough draft of my tentatively-titled “comedy” Cold Turkey. In case you wonder why “comedy” is in quotes, it’s because the “comedy” aspect has yet to be proven. I’ve learned from bitter experience that just because I’ve snickered while writing something doesn’t mean it always translates. The fake cover above might be a good example.
Cold Turkey, or whatever title we settle on, is set to be published by the newly formed Unknown Authors Club Publishing House in early May — just in time for your summer read. It was a nailbiter since I only control 1/3 of the vote, but my colleagues agreed to publish my manuscript sight unseen, and I’m thrilled.
Speaking of The Unknown Authors Club, we were pretty excited this week to receive a Silver Medal in the Inspirational category of the North American Book Awards for our first anthology: The Life of An Unknown Author.
We’re also excited about the four books we’re planning to publish this year. My friend and colleague Leslee’s book, A Little Bit About a Lot of Things, is set to come out next month, and I am proud to be associated with it. Not only did I laugh out loud at several of her stories, but I found her gentle, honest storytelling about her “normal” “un-scantalizing” life to be quite moving.
Finally, I wanted to let you know I’m planning to launch a new publication entitled The Glory Story in the near future. I envision a monthly, long-form article, which I hope to write after interviewing people about the most significant times they saw God’s glory in their lives. Stay tuned for more details, and if you have a Glory Story you’d like to share with me and a couple hundred of our closest friends, please let me know!
Until next time,
